Because breastfeeding is only for nutrition? It goes well beyond that.

It is known that human babies naturally wean from anywhere at 2.5 years of age at minimum to about 7 years of age at maximum. There are many benefits apart from nutrition to nurse a child until both child and mum are ready to stop.

Yes. I almost hated my baby for needing to nurse every 1.5-2h through the day x like, 6 months. But how the mothers dress shouldn’t even matter. I live in the tropics, and pull down my tank top to nurse. Baby’s burp cloth over my exposed chesticle is just an invitation to my boob monster to pull away and play with.

Twiddling! It makes me uncomfortable, so I always keep the non-nursing side covered and hold my bub’s hand or give him a toy to keep his hands busy. But apparently twiddling is supposedly helpful in creating letdowns, so maybe there is a biological function to this action.

I love the La Leche League. The LLL leaders are often sympathetic people who do their best to support mothers and babies, and trying to appease people like David Whitley. Their internal dialogue while dealing with such twits must be hilarious.
