Trashing? Neither this article, nor any other coverage of the Amico I’ve seen, has been negative towards the original Intellivision. Describing the brand as “not having much recognition or pull with modern gamers” and saying “remakes of forty-year-old games make poor system-sellers, especially at these prices” is just

Please, I’m begging everyone, please watch ROBLOX_OOF.MP3 by Hbomberguy on YouTube. It's genuinely hilarious

The Intellivision released in 1979 - 44 years ago. So even assuming this hypothetical ideal journalist played it as a young child during its “heyday”, they would be at or over 50 years old. How many in that age bracket are even around or left in the volatile tech journalism field? Between that and the fact that 2/3 of

Ah thanks, I missed that mention. And yeah also worried how this will function in 5-10-15 years time.

“We bet you’d forgotten about sort-of-Intellivision’s disastrous attempted console, the Amico.”

No, since Hbomberguy’s insanely popular video about the lies of Tommy Tallarico put it back on everyone’s radar last year.

You left off “don’t get your Steam Deck wet” and “don’t feed it after midnight.”

You can still buy 52 of them, set the wallpaper of each to a different card and play Solitaire.

Can’t have a game without a sewer level! Thems the rules!

That’s just a troll pretending to be a useful commentor, don’t bother.

Perpetual / longterm NDAs are rarely enforceable.

Considering how that was phrased, it sounds less like this was Rockstar/2K generally asking him to do this, and more the Housers specifically personally asking him to shut it down.

Which, you know, [mimes jerk off motion]

On Rockstar’s part, this is a case of zero to gain, reputation to sink further than it already is.

Something something Streissand effect. I wouldn’t know all of these anecdotes if Rockstar didn’t hide ‘em

oh hey, this guy/post is back. do you have an alert set up or something?

For becoming* now garbage. It was fine at release and for a couple of years.

Sony has no imagination anymore. Your points are super valid

I’d say when it’s a reasonably significant improvement while still being authentic to the original.   Ducktales HD remake is a SUPERB example.

The boat section is one hell of a ride indeed

Looking over my wishlist(150+ games) nothing has a deep enough discount to nab since I’m still chewing on AW2 and Spiderman 2. Honestly I’ve just been distracted by Half-Life the last few days. Holds up really well.
