I think the difference is that even in a bad sequel, spin-off, prequel, etc, it’s still within the film context.

Fortnite strips away all of that meaning from the licenses to just be another skin suit in which it is vaguely funny to see Piccolo firing an AK47.

I think there should be a law suit on behalf of consumers over the fact that there is no return policy like steam for digital items. If your going to have only digital consoles then there has to be updated digital policies.

Man, I remember when you didn’t have to pay extra to play as, say, Doomguy in Tony Hawk’s.

You think people playing WoW or Destiny don't care about the story? Where did you get your degree in what most people want studies?

I’m sure Batista is right about this being WB, but I definitely went from considering this game at launch to skipping it until a definitive edition comes out down the line with everything included at a cheaper price. And if no definitive edition comes out then I’ll be fine just skipping it altogether.

Just from a lot of people in the know covering this story, the consensus from gaming journalists tend to be this monetization call is coming from WB themselves. When you’re the dev, you simply go with the marching orders from who’s keeping your lights on.

I really wish publishers would move back to doing this sorta thing, especially on PC. CDRed has done great physical releases up to this point. The original 2077 PC release had some nice physical stuff (no additional base cost from digital), but even that was slimmed down compared to Witcher’s 2 and 3.

I think it’s more to do with the percentage amount Sony demands developers give them off of every game sold. Because Sony doesn’t allow a third party marketplace for digital games, developers have to sell through Sony and pay Sony whatever percentage of the cut they demand. Sony demands a high percentage which forces

Having recently acquired a PS5, having to read through the various terms of PS4 to PS5 upgrades has really made me appreciate how simple Microsoft’s approach to cross gen compatibility is; just buy it once and the correct version will install to the appropriate console.

More rereleases than entries is a huge red flag

Thank you for the timestamp, i listened for about two minutes to get to gist, and i decided that i rather claw my own eyes out with shit covered fork, then listen to these geniuses.

I don’t really have a dog in this fight because I’m not invested in the series. Played a bit of the first one at a friend’s place and it was fine. Watched a playthrough of the whole story and again: fine. Nowhere near the masterpiece people prop it up as but it’s pretty good.

We have had CoD on an annual release for longer than that, and during the same period we had 7 Assassin’s Creed games, 5 Far Cry games, none of which really came close to being GoTYs or anything like that, while both games in TLOU series did.

While housing chick fil a? And then pivoting to a discussion over drama over a food brand? Interesting. And then they’re all talking into mics with food in their mouths while talking about how they don’t give a fuck...

Too soon to me is inextricably linked to cost and backward compatibility. If it’s a free/cheap upgrade for existing owners, go nuts. If you’re bringing it to a new platform with graphical enhancements, sure. If it’s for a new console that’s not backward compatible with the last generation, fine. But we’re already at a

I still don’t! It’s all due to a very fromkadent practice called trepanation. You should trib bat! I’ve never foorbed this gum!

I liked it a lot better when I didn’t know who any of these people were.

Raise your hand if you think this game will end up getting cancelled.
