Fingers crossed that the past six films have finally bestowed some acting talent upon Emma Watson. Girlfriend is a fashion treasure, but she's a total Muggle photograph when it comes to the silver screen.

I used to be terrified of appearing in public in a bathing suit because I was convinced - along with 99% of all women - that everyone would be laughing at me and pointing out my flaws.

I had no idea there was an internet movement celebrating pyrodeath or the inability to read things longer than a sentence. And here I thought I was all over technology. I'm so 2000 and late.

@kaiwhakamarie: I'm pretty sure Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje actually left the show because his parents died and not because of a DUI.

@slightlyhardup: I know it's a pipedream, but wouldn't it be nice if the simple term 'model' took hold?

@slightlyhardup: Everybody? 20 comments? Is there a page I'm missing? Because I count exactly 4 comments questioning the validity of calling Renn plus sized, and two extra ones in response to that. There are far more people talking about how beautiful she is despite the heinous clothes.

@suiterkin: Maybe the lady in the mini van was flipping the bird because she was driving a freaking SUV and approximately nobody needs to do that.

Did no one else notice the bloody mark on Jack's neck right after the explosion? I am almost 100% certain it was in the same spot as the one Jack found on his neck in the mirrorverse.

I have nothing really to add about the photo, except that from left to right the colours move from the beginning of the colour spectrum (which starts with blue) to the end (green), and that the primary colour palate's RGB is used by most electronic and transmissive light technologies while its CYMK is used in

I haven't seen anyone else mention this here, but in regards to the Willy Wonka promo - don't forget that Slugworth (also known visually in Willy Wonka as The Man In Black!) was proven not to be bad at all, but rather to be working with Wonka to ferret out the dodgy candidates. It's probably not the case here with

@FactCat: Not that they were working class necessarily, but I noticed the same trend in wardrobe with Buffy and Veronica Mars.

@BeckySharper: I haven't read Cleaving but I grimaced all the way through Julie & Julia. Did her editor not advise her that a book should be crafted differently from a blog? It had no structure and no sympathy! She just came across as an awful, whinging basket case who seemed to hate everything and everyone around

@applejuice: Australia does indeed have a lot of race relations issues, and they are frustratingly denied across all spectrums of our culture.

@inshallah123: In the vein of Sittenfeld, no one's shouting out for Melissa Bank? The Girl's Guide To Hunting and Fishing may have been billed as a US Bridget Jones, but it is anything but.

This is my open letter to Burger King:

@Zombie Ms. Skittles: Hey, *I* read Harry Potter and fantasy stories. And I agree there are some great YA titles out there. I also think there's a lot of crap though, and it's marketed way more aggressively than fiction with awesome girl characters.

@Zombie Ms. Skittles: Are they reading those books though? Or are they reading variations on the Gossip Girl-esque, Clique etc type stuff that seems to cover the children's section of most bookstores I go into? I'm not being facetious - I am genuinely unfamiliar with the reading habits of little girls today.

But do they come with a new hat?

@Aesop's Foibles. YES.: Yeah, I hear you on that. I too am sad and angry at the rate in which little girls are not only encouraged to grow up but that they're ALLOWED to. I'm also disturbed by the fact that the Liv dolls each respectively live for 'hair', 'music', 'thrills' and 'fashion'.
