@kad9k: Hearted for acknowledging how we grieve for what could have, might been and for the baby that is part mine part his. The grief for me is never making *his* baby - I'm much more sad that there won't be a baby him than that there won't be a baby me. I'm still so excited about upcoming our adoption.

Well. I wouldn't describe it as "effortless," that's for sure.

I feel your frustration.

I teach at a college of education.

@alamy42: I think that some co-sleepers would agree that preparing a child for independence and to be productive and make decisions is the goal of parenting.

@jadelyce: I used to use Instead cup, too. The two are shaped differently, right? It took me a while to get used to the Diva, but I like it better. (Except it hurts when I pull it out — getting that lip-ridge part out hurts; I don't know why. TMI, right?)

@dezirella: I totally loved the sponge. Until I got pregnant while on it. :)

Diva cup. It will change.your.life.

[B]eing an uneducated hate-mongering homophobe doesn't give you the right to ruin the rest of our lives. If you get easily offended by being called an uneducated hate-mongering homophobe then dont tell anyone you are an uneducated hate-mongering homophobe. Keep that shit to yourself. I dont care how people decide to

Sometimes I think that it ought to be completely illegal to doctor the President's photograph. To me, that kind of propaganda is dirty on a Nazi level, and is way more inflammatory than even flag-burning, in my opinion. It cuts straight to the subconscious and is manipulative on a psychological level.

@effgeevee: totally agree. there are all kinds of sexy acts I'm not willing to participate in because they would require cleanup afterwards. No, thanks, I just want to fall asleep afterwards, and not in any kind of fluid.

What I wanted to read:

@bookling: I agree that not subsidizing the corn industry would be one way to get to the problem of the obesity and diabetes health crisis that we're experiencing in this country. I also think another way is to not make it so readily and cheaply available to marginalized populations including poor citizens and

@bookling: Yes, I do think they should go after Big Soda. But I think that one way is to stop subsidizing Big Soda. That means that we don't give our citizens money to buy soda. And then, it's about opening up a market so that other beverage producers have some space. I'm not against tax dollars being spent on

Ok. I'll take it the inevitable backlash, but here goes. Big Soda like Big Tobacco is making us sick. Sure, people need to be able to make choices and it is grossly paternalistic to decide how the poor can spend their money. But it is not a level playing field. Coke is the most recognizable brand in the world (I just

@RubyG: I thought maybe she didn't go through with it, too, but when no one seemed to mention it last week I figured I imagined it. I'm sure she didn't go through with it — I think the mom with the 15 year old daughter made her think "biological clock". How old is Joan supposed to be?

Jezebel: What the hell? She said "I regret it with all my heart. I would never intentionally hurt the people that are mentioned on that."

If magazines stopped using professional models, then there would be less of a market for professional models. At which point people who would be professional models wouldn't be professional models. They would just be the super pretty regular not-professional-models that magazines photograph. Amirite?

@Jamie Heck: I had the same thought. A woman who's had two abortions in that time period and who has gone off the pill hoping to get preggers isn't likely to be so taken by the moment so completely. I have never been able to have unprotected sex without even fleetingly thinking about the possibility of getting
