You’re describing a good relationship with a single car dealer who is extremely unlike nearly every other car dealer. The fact that you don’t go out looking to try out the way other car dealers do business suggests you understand very well why most people dislike the process and the fact that you have a unique

“I take a lot of steps and go to a lot of trouble myself to try and avoid the many traps and obstacles that people who I plan on giving tens of thousands of dollars to will try to ambush me with! I don’t understand why people would find this system unenjoyable!”

Consider yourself lucky. You only need to read some of Tom McParland’s older columns about trying to find cars for clients to see some of the bullshit that he’s had to go through, and he does car shopping as a profession.

Tax attorney here: a lot of that stuff you are talking about has actually been shut down, or would never have survived audit.

Porsche does not want self-driving features? I find this to be a wise stance. If you want to get driven to work while snuggled in a blanket, nursing a hangover in the back seat, you probably won’t do it in a Porsche.

If you’re a business, the most prudent thing to do is hold yourself to relatively stricter standards so you’re not screwed the second more progressive rules are enacted, as they inevitably will be at some point.

Neutral: Luxury? Cruise Control and Automatic.

I both agree and disagree with the headline.

This is just a Ridgeline that has been hitting the gym.

Why does it look like a Silverado and a BRAT had a baby?

In fall 2023, a fully loaded RST First Edition model, also delivering a 400-mile range, will debut with an MSRP of $105,000 + DFC

Agreed. $40k Lightning - that’ll sell to actual tradespeople if it ever exists in real life in any volume.

Never mind the striking stuff. It’s gotta be all about finding ways to integrate subscription features and technologies that can only be serviced at dealerships. Ask any “happy” Deere customer.
