I can recall so many adventures in EQ just off the top of my head. The day I got JBoots from Najena for my Wizard. The day my monk got a Fungi Tunic. So many specific adventures in Befallen, Unrest, in the Ocean of Tears.

Those were the days. My friend was legendary amongst the japanese population on FFXI’s faery server after he TPK’d the top guild on the server costing them the King Behemoth kill. A lot of Japanese players would yell at him and leave party just because of him.
The craziest part was, it was entirely an accident as…
Ditto. Its sad but EQ came out at a time when MMORPGs weren’t as familiar with mass markets of gamers and attracted rpg and fantasy fans foremost. I remember running around inspecting players and being impressed by the amount of people that had actual bios about their character written in their profiles. Many were…
Check out Project 1999, it’s got a pretty solid (if a little neckbeardy) community dedicated to playing the game of yesteryear, with only Kunark and Velious expansions.
Whats thew reference?
A turtle made it to the water!
This is the only reason I know who Rem is.
Bdobbins is dope. Anyone saying he’s not right is lying to themselves. But go ahead, keep paying for the extra crap. Destiny 2 will be good one day right?
The Leviathan raid was the nail in the coffin for me, played D1 with a passion, but i didn’t enjoy that raid at all and had no desire to return after that. The DLC’s didn’t convince me either.
Welcome to America, circa 2018.
Except they charge up the butt for everything and plus micro transactions. I loved destiny but after that first dlc when the base game was garbage I was done. I haven’t gone back since and I really loved that game. My wife, friends and me had lots of good times in D1. But after what they did no matter how much they…
But it’s also an update that’s sitting on the foundation of asking for another $70+owning all previous DLC to truly put the update to use.
I recently discovered BDobbins - the guy has his head screwed on right.
You aren’t the only one who feels defeated by a developer that just doesn’t understand what their customers want. In the end, walking away with the good gaming memories is the true silver lining. Ultimately, there are so many great games out there that are probably sitting in your backlog.
You mean like this?
Having the game barely return to the state it was in over 2 years ago is not reason to be extremely excited. Especially when one of the largest studios out there takes 2 years to do basic updates when there are games that cost far less w/ smaller dev teams that put out updates on a regular basis and are better at…
Honestly at this point I think Bungie thrives on the downward sprial. Its a weird situation but I do kind of think that Bungie pretty much develops with extremes and the community kind of mirrors them. Its never just “ok” or “fine” only “fucking amazing” or “dumpster trash pile of shit”
Biggest act of good faith? Good faith wouldve been building on top of what D1 brought, not release a game that went backwards in progress.
because they pushed back on updating until (a) the playerbase absolutely fucking cratered and (b) they brought a bunch of streamers to their HQ who all told them to make the fucking changes.
they’re going to push out this expansion and then blow off the playerbase for another 6-8 months. anyone expecting differently…
As a player with over 1000 hours spent on Destiny 1, I’ve been lied to so many times by Bungie that my faith in this game is now long gone.
Did the Leviathan raid a few times to check it out and I don’t plan on ever coming back, feels bad because the mechanics of this shooter had everything to be amazing and Bungie…
