I think this is one of those times where it is okay to be offended, but maybe keep a check on the level of outrage. Otherwise you can start a chain reaction and eventually the whole thing explodes over social media, and you could be left dealing with the fallout for years.

Where do you think the line is beyond which it is inappropriate to use the same name for a different car? I think when you change one major, defining characteristic of the car, it should get a different name. The New Beetle wasn’t really a Beetle because it had a water-cooled engine in the front.
