This is what you do.

somehow I think if a navy SEAL unit planned to become trump loyalists and upend the constitution, they wouldn’t be flying a campaign flag, since that’s a dead giveaway and all. This is most definitely a bunch of dudes who did this knowing this act would freak out a bunch of people.

It doesnt take much to get you guys all riled up, does it? Breach of protocol? yes. poor taste? yes. But they are trolling you, and it was incredibly effective, as it turns out.

It’s stupid comments like yours, that’s exactly why Whites don’t give a shit to discuss your newest guilt slogan.

I would purchase this car, as well as a McLaren hat and jacket. Drive to Pebble Beach and park next to the F1 guys. I’d tell them We’re all in the same club.

442 is not an engine displacement. 4-4-2 is for 4 bbl carb, 4 speed trans, and dual exhaust

Just so we are clear, there is no such thing as a 442 engine. The 442 was a package of which included an Oldsmobile 455 which by the way is different than a Pontiac 455 and Buick 455.

This is a great point, and I consider consumer fuel tax to be among the least of all evils (and by far the simplest to implement, ultimately saving money and time for the government and making cheating virtually impossible). But people get all up in arms when blanket taxes are thrown around, especially when you show

If you want people to use something less, tax it. Regulations are the political solution to the problem, forcing the impetus on manufacturers to make cars more efficient regardless of the market. If they taxed gas to encourage using less, people would drive less or buy more efficient vehicles, i.e. driving the market.

The standards increase the price of developing cars and thus the price of cars customers face. Rest is supply/demand. If you increase the price above market equilibrium, fewer vehicles are demanded and a deficit arises (lost profits/consumer dissatisfaction). More used cars are bought where new cars would be purchased.

Here’s a better question.

My wife cares very little about cars, but she swears she will never, ever buy a minivan. So we have a CR-V. And there’s your market.

But minivans aren’t cool.

Simple...people buy what they want, not what they need.

I actually think that the EPA standards suck, for several reasons. Firstly, it works the wrong way ‘round. It forces companies to produce a good, and then hopes they can convince the public to buy that good. It would be better to affect demand and then allow the suppliers to cater to the demand. You can do the latter

Underrated comment right here.

Well, depends on what you set those CAFE standards at. If the current fleet is at say 25mpg and you say 28mpg in 5 years, sure. But if you say 50mpg in 5 years, then you are drastically increasing the prices of cars. Suddenly everything has to become at least a plug-in hybrid. The average cost of a new car goes up

The Democratic Party is as much to blame as anyone for what happened this election cycle. They no longer engage in debate, they just shout down anyone that they disagree with by calling them as racists, bigots, sexists, neo-nazis that eat babies in their spare time. That just makes expressing a dissenting opinion

I always remind people. You are better off just letting the car warm up for 1 minute and then just driving GENTLY until the car warms up than you are letting the car warm up stationary for 15 minutes. You have a warm engine and and cold transmission. It is best to warm them up together by just driving the car easily

Exactly. The current metric is a Nurburgring time.

Can Tesla even finish an entire lap?
