The only time peel-off (un-tinted latex) is used is if the the paint will need to be removed for future work. Otherwise you can prime/paint right over the clay.

Aero was the number one driver, I don’t remember the numbers for certain, but I think it was close to 2 mpg lost at 75 mph for the C6 corvette. It was a HUGE deal dropping the flip ups on the Vette.

Well said, and rarely commented on. I work at the GM Tech center, it covers over a square mile, has roughly 40 buildings and 20,000 resident employees yet doesn’t directly produce any vehicles or components that reach the customer.
