The only thing I can think of is that it makes the redactions more secure if you redact, then print, then scan. Otherwise you have to be very careful how you redact to make that stuff actually gone but the rest of it still actual text.

In hindsight it’s pretty clear that Trump’s 2015 “I like people who don’t get caught” comment about McCain was a watershed moment for the GOP.
