What proof can anyone provide that Betterment/Wealthfront/etc aren’t some kind of pyramid scheme?

I forget, does the 3% of Amazon points when you buy stuff on Amazon with the Amazon CC extend to gift card purchases?

This is what I do intuitively with my “no non-food, non-gas spending during the week” rule. If something is important enough that I’ll remember it on Saturday after seeing it Monday, then it’s worth buying.

Because I share this exact same POV, I still have a couple of anti-choice friends. They feel that if you’re going to eliminate termination as an option, you had best make it as feasible as possible for a woman to support the child.

When I was living in London for grad school for a year, I opened a student account with Santander and it was very easy to do, even as a non-EU student.

Also don’t be surprised if you’re sitting in your hammock one day and you end up with your ass on the floor. Pullout forces are real, sudden, and will leave a nasty hole in your wall.

I carry it mainly for the 2 legged predators.

Given that I’ve gone on numerous backpacking trips out west (PCT, Glacier, to name 2) and have been bluff charged by a black bear, I’m going to say I’m comfortable with my stance on this one. I’ve never seen the point of a gun (when not hunting) when my voice and maybe a rock will do along with a reasonable amount of

This. It took me a couple of tries but I did find a driving school in my area that taught stick. The car had the instructor’s clutch and gas and everything. Besides teaching me to get into start reliably (my biggest problem when I tried to learn from my parents...long story as to why that didn’t work out), it also

I’m a huge advocate of gun safety classes in schools. Kids shouldn’t be taught to fear guns, but they should be taught to respect them the same way you respect fire and sharp tools.

How is a gun going to protect you in the wilderness? Anything that can be killed with a single shot (except other people) will be scared off if you yell. Anything bigger than that (grizzlies) will only be pissed off.

They’re an evolution of the way homes were “sold” to blacks and immigrants in the late 19th and early 20th centuries (I don’t remember what the specific mechanism was called but landlords would have people sign “rent to own” contracts on houses and then repossess the house when the tenants couldn’t pay. See Sinclair’s

Depending on what the wall is supporting and how you want the floor plan to change, the engineer may have had to basically redesign the house. Example, I once worked on the plans for a McMansion where the owner didn’t want any walls to support the double curved stairway in the entry way. That was WAY more complicated

A pass through isn’t much of an improvement compared with the idea of tearing out the whole load bearing wall. You still have to support that gap somehow, just framing it in with 2x6s generally won’t cut it.

Who brought that piece of nonsense out of the grays because...damn.

I would have punched him in the face after that last quote.

My friend who made one for her wedding knew how heavy it was so we ended up making a throwing bouquet out of the bows and decorations from the bridal shower.

Read the translations of the French, Russian, and Chinese anthems. The French especially.

To be fair, the US anthem is pretty low on the list of most violent anthems.
