Pleading not guilty seems like a bad idea, especially when there’s so much evidence stacked against you.
The problem with that defense is that they deducted the bribe from their taxes. That’s what they are in trouble for. And the whole coach’s discretion thing doesn’t extend of course to the choice to make their bribe a tax write off.

My cats usually come when we call them, they are sort of dog like that way. We recently acquired a new cat (a stray who decided we were her people) who we named and converted to a house cat, and after just a few weeks she knew her name.
Gidget knows her name, and will come running when I call her. She’ll also mysteriously appear anytime chicken is being served.
