I’ve always though the Hammer films are more than a little kitschy, and the worst of them are downright silly. I enjoy most of them, but they weren’t really prestige films. They were pretty blatant rehashes of the Universal horror films of the 30's and 40's.

May I recommend April Wolfe’s podcast, Switchblade Sisters? It’s a much more serious (but entertaining) horror movie podcast that gets pretty in depth, whereas we more goof around and talk about the culture surrounding modern horror movies and why we like or don’t like them.

Exactly! I hate slasher films, but I love horror. True horror uses suspense, a solid script, creepy visuals, and good acting to make its point. I don’t mind violence if it makes sense, but torture porn sucks.
