As AA Dowd says in the body of the piece, Green Book isn’t an awful movie. I haven’t seen the thing yet, but no one’s calling it a bad movie. It’s just not the BEST movie. Which is the point. The point is how did this ok, but not best, movie take home the Best Picture Oscar, is the point. That said, I hope you get a…
Haha. No shit. Well put. Poetjunkie IS watching a different show... he’s just watching it alone. Glad he likes it, though.
The only real choice left to me after a long run of bad ones.
Ha ha...
I think that’s about right, yes.
I’m with you, Zack. Like you’re reading my mind. This is one frustrating series. The more I read about how closely they hued to Bryan Fuller’s original concepts (and when I think about how very much I did NOT like his take on American Gods. At. All.), the more I think I will blame him for this.
I used to like the Klingons. Especially the confident, solid storytelling and character work on display by the time we get to DS9. And it all starts with TNG. They were exciting and 3-dimensional.
I knew a couple broke Russians
Yeah. I agree. What’s creepy about those Joel songs?
Really, I can’t disagree too much with this review. Except to say that this is the first time this show was relatively easy for me to watch. The first time I wasn’t at least a little angry (at the producers for tricking me into losing another hour and at myself for thinking, “maybe this time...”).
I dunno. I think the whole series comes of a little perfunctory, but it’s still light years better than season 1 of Discovery. I’m ok with it.
He should talk to the Phillie Fanatic. He can learn all the best heartbreak-and-defeat mascot moves.
I saw something like it when Sandy showed up. From my front window in Bed Stuy I could see the East village power station give up the ghost. That’s what plunged the city into the stone age for three weeks.
Why is it that anytime someone says, “Hmm, maybe holding the people with all the money to SOME standards wouldn’t kill us,” some other idiot has to jump in and equate that position with communism?
?
Like everyone else here has said, it’s just the opposite of what you’ve somehow taken away. They all explain it well enough (The Doctor remembers everything - including the loss of every companion, which weighs heavily).
I was going to comment on that wildly obtuse statement there at the end of your article, but it seems half the world has beaten me to it.
Unfortunately...inconceivably...no it isn’t the law. Not everywhere.
That “Unnamed woman” is Katja Herbers. One of the most beautiful, dynamic and criminally underused actors in the world.
