Looking at the major brands they outsell, it is strange. I could see myself driving an Acura, Caddy, Infiniti, Lincoln, Volvo or Jag sedan before buying a Buick Lacrosse or Regal.

I think it has something to do with dealer networks. Buick and GMC are sold together and though the prices start higher than Chevy there is a lot of overlap. It lets GM have more full-line stores in an area without having too many Chevy stores.
