i would have to say it is car design and prices. its a good way of talking to people who dont like cars to explain to them whats good and not, like telling people a a camry costs this, and a bugatti costs that is a way to get eyebrows raised and more questions asked!

Let get real for a moment, bmw just revamped the 8 series name to make something thats a mix of an infiniti and a lexus which is a concept (yes it is go google stuff!)

Now i’ve seen all theories on this. The one i think fits best to your questioning is this.. Cars is set in a post human world inhabited by monsters like in that awful movie “monster-truck” that would explain all the existing infrastructure paralleles to human society, and why all cars have face etc.
