[Raising Hand] It feel like those two are getting closer and could easily end up doing something. I keep telling myself that that would be so tonally off for this show, though.

At one point Ann declares "you have be under 40 to ride this caboose" (I'm paraphrasing). But didn't she used to date Chris Traeger, a hunky 40+? Maybe she means chronological age only?

That's been my experience as well. The only people I've come across who propose this as an argument are jackasses who enjoy getting a rise out of others with deliberately obnoxious statements. Those conversations lasted about 30 seconds and ended with eye-rolling.

Newsweek? Is that still a thing?

I remember when Pulp Fiction came out one of the big controversies was Tarantino's repeated use of the n-word. It seems quaint in 2012, what with gangsta rap and the GOP wearing that word out by now.

I'm comfortable with Saving Private Ryan not being on the list. That film is two all-time brilliant battle scenes bookending an hour and a half of cliched script and weak acting.

No, you do get it.  Morrisey's fey aloofness worked in the '80s when it helped define his band's persona, but since then it's congealed into, well, what you see in the Colbert interview. And nothing Morrisey has done is as good as what The Smiths did.

I like her too, but I blanked for a few minutes on why she is famous. I had to go to IMDb to recall - There's Something About Mary, Being John Malkovich, and a whole bunch of Shrek sequels.

The more I read about the history of SNL, the more I understand why Eddie Murphy has never been back for a reunion, never talks about his time there, and wants nothing to do with that show.
