@The Hoon Dynasty (RexMaximus): "It's safe to say that Transformers, along with my dad's love of all things automobile were what made me a car guy."

@ament001: You must live in a wonderful land where everyone has a garage full of tools. Where I live, ten grand wouldn't even be a third of a down payment for a house, so it got me a used 999 instead.

Enjoy your $800 valve adjustments every few months. Also, get ready for the quizzical looks from people when they hear that dry clutch clacking away at stoplights.

"Sorry, I can't hear you through my helmet."

Wow, so I guess Block took the Monster and Dirt sponsors from Subaru when they left WRC.

Oh yeah, I forgot how much I wanted one of these....

@lemke: I wondered if this was the case, but I still don't care about the product and that guy looks like the still needs to learn a lesson about covering his tracks.

A Lotus. Elise, Exige or Evora... I want them all so badly but I've already got my daily hooner and my project bike. Unless I give up bikes or decide to rally-prep my Subie, it's just not in the cards.

@OA 5599: Now that's a brilliant idea.

@buzz killington: Ha! Saw one of these yesterday; yellow with purple flames. Laughed so hard I almost rear-ended a CHP cruiser.

Any car with false badging. Yes, I'm looking at you, NA G35 owner with the Skyline badging. And you, with the BMW 325i - BMW typically doesn't leave on the "25i" when they put an M in front of the three. And that guy in my work parking lot with the WRX wagon - take off that STI badging, they didn't make an STI wagon

To be fair, Collins held out longer than I would've - I think I'd have lasted a week before running off to my friends and squealing with delight at my new job.

@They call me MISTER Scroggs!: It ends with you getting sued by Ariel for posting pictures of their new prototype, the Arie L. Coyote.

@TR3-A: What you're saying is that any nob with a big engine can accelerate, but it takes skill to take a turn properly. I will say that I don't mind seeing double-clutching go the way of the dodo; you're a more hardcore man that I.

@Socialvegetable: There's no shame in that; I didn't have a 3-pedal car until I bought my own when I was 27. I like to think that I'm making up for lost time now, because I can't imagine myself with an automatic.

I approve of the skew on this vote. I'm a 25+ year old autocrossing, rallycrossing, moto-riding, rev-matching, heel-'n-toe manual driving junkie.

I know this is a completely worthless comment, but I'm going to go with it anyway:

@SpardaFatalis: Ignoring the epithet that stoke already covered... just get one. I have an STI and I love it. Yeah, I occasionally get people who want to drag race it, and people who don't know me will make some assumptions based on my ownership of it, but you know what? It just doesn't matter. You shouldn't live your

@British_Looks_British_Reliabil...: That is a very believable anecdote. I've been a fan of Lotus names for a while, but I think I'm biased by how cool the cars are. Elise and Evora aren't particularly compelling names, but the stirring sensation they bring to my fingertips makes them powerful.

"Bad... you keep saying that word. I do not think that word means what you think it means."
