If that work is literally modeling clothing, then a little bit yea. Hence why a lot of times they are given clothing to wear on red carpets vs buying it. Red carpets are 90% for taking pictures of what they wore to the event. 

Stuff like what you’d wear in the logging industry isn’t so much a dress code as it is about meeting personal protective equipment requirements, though. Dress codes are more of a social construct.

Unless it’s for safety - dress codes are restrictions of personal freedom and shouldn’t be allowed IMO. “Approriate” dress is dictated by rich, conservative people and it needs to stop. Beyond racism, they’re also classist.

It’s just fucking clothes. Who cares what people think of what you’re wearing? Especially if you’re rich enough to wear expensive clothes and conventionally attractive. If the critics arn’t body shaming, poor shaming or being racist, they are every right to publish what they want about fashion.
