True, though you'd think such a major story arc would have at least been mentioned at some point during the series rather than just being swept under the rug. And what they did with Kitty was nice - it was closure and gave us the impression we probably wouldn't be seeing her again. As you say, maybe (hopefully) they

I just hope the writers actually follow through properly with this story arc as so many interesting plots have been sidelined before they had the chance to get going. Here's one major example - Morland Holmes. He takes over Moriarty's crime empire at the end of the last season, and we hear absolutely nothing about him

She could go back to being a doctor and take care of Sherlock as his condition gets worse and worse. Hmm maybe not such a great story arc after all!

Yeah, I had the same thought! And then maybe he can predict all the crimes and solve them before they even happen.

So, apparently, double pinky promising to the partner-boss of a major gang, 'can' get him to talk after all. Must have been the wonderful and sincere way in which Aidan Quinn delivered the line that did it!

But wasn't that more a case of Gregson hugging Kitty and not the other way around?

On the subject of not understanding what cast members are saying… Shinwell. I really have to focus to understand what he's saying the majority of the time and find it really annoying.
