I get the BBC updates on my phone, so when it arrived I was very sad. About 10 minutes later my mum sent me a text 'live long and prosper'.

I grew up poor lower middle class, but didn't really know about the poor part till my dad lost his job, and we therefore lost our home, when I was 15. My parents were good at choosing what their money was spent on...until they had no money at all.

it's been a fashion in the uk for a while. I can cope with it in winter, but last summer my teenage brother and all his friends had long sleeved shirts buttoned up WITH SHORTS.

Yeah, it's basically the only dumb child raising decision she's made. She was always well informed about every decision she made, just in this case the information she was provided was wrong. Not her fault at all. The only reason I remember it at all is because when the school nurse came to give the injections,

There was a 'study' released years ago linking the MMR jab (measles mumps and rubella) to autism. It has repeatedly been proven SO INCREDIBLY INACCURATE, INVALID AND JUST PLAIN WRONG but some idiots dont give their kids one or more of the jabs (they get repeated during later life).

yeah I loved it all and then Kanye showed up looking awkward.

failed catholicism bonding.

As a highly inexperienced relationship person (I've had only 3)...none of them passed the 6 month mark. I much prefer being alone.

I trained as a midwife and during that time we had a relative of Bonnie Tyler in our care - BT was very bossy and annoying whenever she visited.

I love her so much

Dead behind the eyes.

I can go one worse. I was a Twilight fan.

screw 18 years, it's more like 25 now. (I say this as a 25 year old who was very independent all her life so far, and was never given much support - bar emotional - after 18, and who still only now has permanently moved out)

I actually don't even understand why people mean when the talk about being in the greys. Am I in the greys? I just occasionally comment on things that get me pissed or that I can relate to.

this post makes me feel uncomfortable for the poor girl. Finding a family member embarrassing is one thing (like the Obama girls) because family are embarrassing. Being creeped on by a family member is another. She's going to have to spend the next few family gatherings having to try to explain her expression in a

Jam does the same. I bit into a freshly made jam tart when I was 11. I still have the scar on my hand!

I was always injured as a kid.

glad to hear! I've always thought it sounded like bullshit, but was never sure because unlike other schools, although there wasn't a huge amount of sex education, the stuff we did get was actually pretty decent.

I'm fairly certain that I was told at school (when I was about 14) that the age of consent was only for girls. Like, if both boy and girl, or just the girl are under 16 = illegal. But not illegal for boy under 16 to sleep with an over 16 year old. I have no idea if this is true or not, but we were all sat in class

HOLY SWEET JESUS THIS IS THE BOOK MY CATHOLIC MOTER THREW AT ME WHEN I WAS 9!!!
