Funnily enough I have done this, my coffee table folds out into a basic seat set-up. I saw one for sale on the internet for about £1500 and thought not a chance I can make that in a weekend for less than £100.

The clutch is operated by a paddle behind the gear shift paddles and are only really important at the start, but even then a computer is used to set the biting point just before the lights go green.

Cheers! Now I can decide that spending almost £1000 on a seat that doesn't even come with a steering wheel or pedal set is still a bad idea.

To be honest the good points about France for me are the food and the wine, both of which I can get in Scotland easily. If I wanted to go on holiday to a hot Mediterranean country I would pick Italy.
