The Hummer tax break was a big deal in the Bush II years. I think that it was tightened up to genuine work vehicles in later years.
I can’t speak for dentists; but if your “small business” vehicle is over 3 tons, you can get a heck of a tax break. (Hummer H1 is 3.5-4 tons.)
