It’s an incredibly personal decision. I personally didn’t like the manual option in my G35 that much, and I don’t like the automatic variant of my Accord that much. So I have an automatic G35 and a manual Accord.

Someone heard my dads 328i (N20 motor) idling in the driveway while they were walking by and stopped to say “you’ve got valve tick” & I was like “no, just direct injection!” and he looked at me like I was a complete idiot. 

Yikes, my best friend has an ‘07 Rabbit that she’s had for quite a while. She’s not exactly the best about maintenance, but not the worst either. Thing is almost at 200k and remains trouble-free. I don’t really get it either.
