@Mr.Gawn: I do own a SL DVD (bought it for my 13" MBPro), so I haven't been looking into the Leopard installs out there. #openthread

@leaderbuilder: This looks fairly straightforward - since I got really close with Adam's tutorial, I bet this one will work. Thanks! #openthread

@Mr.Gawn: The Psystar method never worked... it got to the DUBL loader screen, but never loaded the installer. I tried Adam's method by formatting my usb thumbdrive and extras folder. After changing different settings in bios, I was able to go through the entire install for Snow Leopard, but after it said

@Ahnduru: I have an iPhone, but I use TextFree Unlimited and textPlus. Both work relatively well, but I've found textPlus has less issues. If you do jailbreak, you can install Google Voice to SMS that way... #openthread

@Mr.Gawn: Thanks, I haven't tried iDeneb (I guess I was only googling for Snow Leopard tutorials). I'll try that out this weekend. I think the main thing in the BIOS was setting SATA to AHCI... didn't think anything else was that important, but then again, it never worked for me! #openthread

@Ahnduru: Well I use the Calendar app (synced using calDav to my Google Calendar) for appointments and events. For notes, like to-do lists, ideas, things to buy, etc. I use Evernote. Since Evernote is a cloud-based note system, I can access it easily using their website, PC and Mac desktop client, as well as their

Trying desperately to get OSX to install on my desktop - I have an Intel Core 2 Quadd Q6600 on an Asus P5K Wifi Deluxe. The HDD is connected to SATA1, but rebel efi or the tutorial by Adam here at LH didn't work for me. Anyone out there have this figured out?

@Mr.Gawn: You should have picked up WinX DVD Ripper Platinum in September when it was free! I heard about it here on LH. You can buy it for $25 - its decent software that works well backing up my DVD library for my XBMC setup. #openthread

@Ahnduru: iPod Touch is a good move - you can get one pretty cheap, it will sync your google calendar, and you can install GTD apps like Evernote (that supports offline viewing and editing - its really a fantastic app) #openthread

@Chris Allen: Yo my name is Chris Allen too... ckcallen is for Chris k c Allen

It looks like you don't have to use blacksn0w - I just installed the mobileconfig on my Ultrasn0w 3GS. #tethering

If jailbreak iPhone users want something similar - google "LockScreen Info." Its awesome and works well on my 3.1.2 3GS #android

Man I hope flyscreen comes to Cydia for iPhone. There isn't really anything good right now for jailbreak'd iPhones (SmartScreen is 10 bucks, Intelliscreen is 10 bucks, and Lock Screen isn't that great). #android

Completely off-topic, but you really have the "Offender" app in your iPhone dock? I understand TweetDeck, but Offender?!?

And this is why I love lifehacker - you accept your own functionality is flawed and you offer a better solution! Love it.

Google still hasn't fixed the unnecessary horizontal scroll bar in gmail when you have right-side chat. Firefox seems to fix it, but Safari and Chrome both have trouble... even 10 pixels makes a difference on my 13" macbook pro!
