While I get what youre saying, 50 mpg is a huge upgrade to even cars that are getting 30mpg.  In addition, it cant be ignored where that pollution is being generated.  If it needs to be generated, its better at a few local sources than millions of vehicles driving through the cities and suburbs.

I know its not quite the same, but my hybrid ford SUV from 2009 still gets 31mpg and all the readings for the battery are very good.  The battery does all the dirty work getting around town so its been used pretty heavily over the last decade and still working great at 225k miles.

Same for me.  People chided me for giving the Gov’t an interest-free loan.  Well what the hell am I giving Chase or Wells Fargo?  Now there are plenty of banks that will give a 2% APY on savings accounts, so I go that route now.

I used it as a place to store cash in a place that I could not touch it and take the added paycheck to myself since the Gov’t paid roughly the same interest as Wells Fargo or Chase. Now that there are some banks paying out at least something of an interest rate again, I put the money in those accounts.
