Typo alert - all of your quotes say Vitamin E Acetate (which is correct), but you call it Vitamin A Acetate 3 times.

“What was the Deadspin comments section like, grandpa?”

It took me 10 years of jealous admiration/resentment on the sidelines before I got pulled out of the greys a couple of years ago (if you include the ancient invite-only commenting system that preceded it), and I was so goddamned unreasonably secretly proud to win the seal of approval of a real Deadspinner that it’s

Thanks - it’s the tiniest little gesture, but I need to channel all my denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance into something.

Pro tip - if you can’t find the auto-play sound on video despite scrolling up and down the article a couple of times and looking at all the ads on both sides, interspaced with the text of the article, or among the quiet auto-playing videos above the article, it’s probably down below the bottom of the comments

Give me Life’s Rich Pageant, or give me death!

Nah, it’s possible to do both - Feelings are complicated, and I contain multitudes.

I think it’s fair to acknowledge that we don’t know anything close to the full picture of what’s going on, and give Drew the benefit of the doubt, while still being a bit disappointed that he’s the only writer to publish a post since Barry got fired.

There’s concern because there has pretty clearly otherwise been a coordinated effort not to publish anything on the site that looks a lot like a writers’ strike from the outside, and now there is fresh content from the loudest voice in the room.

It does - I can’t judge anyone too harshly for decisions they make when their livelihood is on the line, and I don’t know how the details of Drew’s non-exclusive contract compare to those of the full-time staff’s, or when this piece was submitted and edited or whether he had a choice in whether or when it posted.

Another question for the Funbag - is there a charitable way to interpret what seems like crossing a picket line to post this today?

I’ve been reading the site since 2005, took my wife on a second date in 2006 because she said she loved Deadspin, and the site has been my first stop on the internet for the bulk of my adult life. Over the years you get enough personal insight into the writers’ lives that you feel like you’re my friends. Just want to

For what it’s worth, the phone number for Great Hill Partners works:

“We go to war”

Holy shit is that stadium empty! I assumed the first picture must have been taken before the game started, but the scoreboard don’t lie.

I agree.  Still fun to point and laugh at a take that hasn’t aged well though.

I thought Buddy Hield sucked?

I just don’t understand how someone so strong can be so frail at the same time.

He was worth 4 WAR this year - good for #66 in the majors and ahead of Gleyber Torres and Jose Altuve. I’m not saying he’s awesome, or that he should be hitting third in this series, but he’s a useful player who has a job for a reason (steroids).
