Dredd was a great movie on its own merits (mostly Karl Urban’s chin) and the fact that it was produced in sequence with The Raid doesn’t imply anything beyond story-light tower-assault drama being a decent backstop for an action film.

The hallway fight scene is good but also a bit showy for me — the best fight scene in those shows is the Punisher in prison. Brutal and without bullshit, just a guy fighting for his life and (crucially) absolutely willing to kill.
