Your analogy makes very little sense. But divine intervention is throughout the series. From the Battle at the Asteroid to the 'stumbling' upon Kobol, to the 'stumbling' into the Pegasus, randomly finding an ancient temple on the algae planet, the Battle of the Ionian Nebula.

"History has proven the cost always outweighs the benefits."

They mention God in the first episode. Just because you chose to ignore it and make up your own expectations of the show does not mean it is breaking it's own rules.

Welcome to Doctor Who. It changes what it is every few years.

Really? I was more concerned with her catching the Spanish Flu, or having to get a tooth pulled without proper anesthetic. Or polio. Or a lack of refrigeration and proper food standards.

How do you feel about Classic Who, where there were very rarely families involved?

Gwen Cooper only appears in one story, we can't really count her. I will definitely give you Harriet Jones (Although I find it highly amusing that our hero destroys the life and career of an independent and strong female leader because she is not being dependent upon his help). Sarah Jane I count as a former

Funny you mention that. First off, it is Rose's score he lowered. Not RTD's. Blink passed. Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead both pass. The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances has a prominent and independent female character in them, it's just her and Rose don't get to meet until the last 10 minutes of the story as

"It had numerous recurring, non-companion female characters. And then it had multiple crossover episodes in which the female companions shared screen time."

I would just like to note, that all other issues aside, the 'Study' that was released on Doctor Who, was less an actual scientific study, and more someone posting their homework assignment on their blog. The application of the bechdel test was arbitrary on the part of the researchers. (If a man is mentioned, like The

I'm really glad that enough time has passed since that time JJ lied to everyone and acted like a huge asshole that he can look back and laugh about it.

Gollum looked great. He also had an actor playing him and lots of physical sets and actors to interact with. Ditto to the most recent Planet of the Apes.

Have you watched Attack of the Clones recently? Everything in the entire film looks like it is made of wet plastic.

Who hurt you?

I feel like, had the show been granted a 5th season, Manny Coto have hit the ground running and would have secured enough good will warrant a 6th and 7th. It's clear that the show just meanders in seasons 1 and 2, has a purpose but an odd one in season 3, and in season 4 finally developed a sense of direction.

To be fair, you could have Jeffrey Combs read the phone book and he would make it sound snarky and intriguing.

It's made pretty clear from New Caprica onward that things like antibiotics and basic medicines are running short with no means by which to re-manufacture them. It is highly probable they would have died even without their vipers and tylium refineries.

I think 'Pegasus' is pretty much the model by which bleak episodes of science fiction are judged.

It's disturbing how right you are. Enterprise just seems to be a large case of arrogant and ignorant people with a very poor grasp of diplomacy. At least characters like Shran have the decency to be aware of the fact that they are assholes.

See, the problem is all of those things have context and we can analyze and understand them in the bigger picture of things.
