Amazing movie. Went to a screening of a re-mastered version a couple of years ago in Auckland, with the writer and producer present. Great Q & A afterwards. I’ve loved that movie for 30 years.

Skip it, the genre premise is wafer-thin. It’s like they wrote a rather aimless crime procedural, then thought “how can we market this to a broader audience”. It’s a con.
Very disapointing this. The genre premise is wafer-thin, and quickly gets shoved aside in favour of a rather random crime procedural with pycho-drama elements. 5 episodes in, and the premise is still no more than a Chekov’s gun.
There’s also a UK version which is likewise very funny.
