You’re putting words in my mouth. I didn’t suggest that the film felt dated specifically because of the change in religious debate, you did. I’m simply refuting your specific point. There are more issues aposite in the movie than simply the narrow religious one.

The answer to a question that starts “So you’re saying...” is always “no”.

No, I’m saying since the advent of the so-called “New Atheists”, the debate has moved on a lot. Religion’s been debated endlessly in the years since Dogma, particularly on the internet. The argument is a lot more sophisticated post “The God Delusion”.

Tusk is a great movie.

Okay but that’s nowhere near the top of the list of requirements for a movie. Any “issues” movie is going to date. Ghostbusters is a popcorn movie.

Quite so. If she can’t deal with the people on her team, she can switch teams or decline to play. Very much a case of “live by the sword, die by the sword”.

Fuck. No.

And when clean water is more expensive than printer ink?

This graph shows rise from 1993-2013. Which is within the time period of rising CO2.

Even Princess Leia’s Theme?

This show is superdumb.

I’ve been listening to John Williams scores for 41 years, and was underwhelmed by it. I get that it’s a different sort of score, but it’s not the sort of score I want from a Star Wars movie. Disapointed, frankly.

“Little in the way of” means “a small amount of”, not none. Rey’s theme and a half-formed Resistence theme is “little” for a SW score.

Come again?

Those shows aren’t all that grown up though. I’m too old for them, frankly. Also, of the ones I’ve seen, they didn’t seem all that great.

That’s a great point. It’s easy to forget that we weren’t all around the first time.

Apparently my 8-core processor isn’t fast enough. What the actual.

Certainly England’s greatest living songwriter.

Indulge a foreigner. Why do you need more than one?

Yeah, gave up on that show very quickly, even though I usually live near-future shows. I got the impression they really hadn’t thought the premises through.
