They didn’t. They thought he was the best of the people who said yes. Rumour has it he was quite a long way down the list. Oliver would have got it had he still been on the show, for sure. And I’ll better real money they asked him anyway.

Similarly, while men suffer under patriarchy, their suffering is mostly existential.
Probably more expensive than an actual heart then.
“fuck those guys people” surely?
Is it 2%, or less likely than being hit by lightning? 2% is 1 in 50. I agree with you in general, but your grasp of probabilities seems a little shaky.
I’m genuinely confused by this. We’re told repeatedly that feminism isn’t about promoting women specifically, but about promoting equality. How can you exclude men from the effort to promote equality? By excluding men, you seem to be conceding that feminism is purely about the effort to privelege women. If that’s what…
Jesus wept.
Maybe, or maybe he’s doing what feminists repeatedly ASK men to do, which is have the conversation with other men.
“Chakras” aren’t things that exist, so it really is pretty pointless getting upset about people who don’t understand them.
Millions of people are still enjoying it.

I’m not sure it’s fair to say she’s all that priveleged. She grew up in a single-parent home in Tottenham. I’m pretty sure she’s earned everything she has.
I always took the line to be “I bet you think this song is about you”, rather then “I bet you think this song is about you”.
Yeah, fluffies in NZ.
These are the standard UK guidelines. The equivalent “rape” sentence would be for repeated rape with aggravating factor (the deception), so at least 15 years. This wasn’t technically rape, as she didn’t have a penis, so hence she seems to have gotten something of a discount:
Adding fraud and the 2-year long period of the offense was probably a factor, imho.
In fact, if deception had been involved, a male rapist would have gotten a similiar sentence. Rape with fraud has a high starting point. Also, I assume that the fact that it went on for 2 years was also a factor.
They are implying that the rapist in this case seems to be getting more of a thoughful treatment than most convicted rapists. Usually it’s a case of “no excuses”. Having read around about this case, this does definitely seem to be true.
