It’s pretty basic in-group/out-group behaviour. It’s not a new thing, it’s not even new to the internet. And at least it makes them easy to spot.

There was some complaint that Batman, Superman and Spiderman were all being played by British actors at one point. But given they were all pretending to be American, I don’t suppose there was much justification for the butthurt.

Johansson was paid more than double what Renner was paid for the Avengers movie. I’m not it’s entirely logical to state that he benefitted from the pay gap. It’s extremely hard to quantify what an actor is worth, I would have thought.
