That’s so sad! If only there was something he could do to stop it, like not being a white nationalist mouthpiece poisoning the nation with hate and lies. He should try that.
I am 90% certain that this is some sort of scam and that within a few months the tech support for the site will drop off the face of the earth and the users will be unable to cancel their subscription.
I’m glad to see I wasn’t the only one. That tent in the desert made me think of The Greatest Show in the Galaxy. Loved the aikido too, and the intro had a very old school Who feel to it, “I’m good at old school.”
A triple-meat What-A-Burger liberal? What does that even mean, Ted? Everybody I know in Texas likes What-A-Burger.
Fuck Ted Cruz and his supporters forever.
To be entirely honest, after the last couple years, “Fine” is a revelation.
Chibnall, rather than the woman Doctor was always my worry coming into this season- remember, this ws the person who wrote Cyberwoman...
I think I enjoyed this episode a lot more than the first one. For one thing, it all didn’t take place at night and the harsh desert setting made it different from lots of other episodes. Plus, the worldbuilding — the last leg of the 12 galaxy race — was pretty interesting and I liked that the two racers weren’t bad…
“Come to daddy... I mean mummy.”
So far the new season has been adequate, which is about what my expectations were going into it.
As I mentioned last week, the Doctor and her companions finding themselves floating in space and then improbably being picked up by a passing ship(s) is a nod to former Doctor Who writer Douglas Adams’ The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.
Yeah Yaz feels like kind of a weak link at the moment. At least compared to Ryan & Graham anyway.
Very pleased to see her more aggressively using Venusian Aikido than any other modern Doctor (save perhaps 12). Very stoked for next week’s episode - meeting Rosa Parks in the 50's seems like they’re not going to avoid the sort of things they could have gone into with Martha or Mickey. Truly hope they’ll make it…
I was a lot happier with this episode. While we don’t yet have a great handle on the TARDIS team, I also feel like Chibnall is getting us there slowly and naturally. Like, when I meet new people, I don’t expect some adventure to crop up that prompts them to relate their back story; it’s more likely that bits and…
I thought it was solid- definitely you can tell they’re jamming a lot in, but the overall sense of a big overland journey was nice, and they really got the feel of a mysterious alien world down. (I am a bit curious as to why the aliens built a shooting gallery and weapons lab under a strip mall, though.)
So far everything about this series has been “fine.” Good solid middle tier Doctor Who episodes with lots of running and pointing a screwdriver at things. Couple of bonkers moments, like engineered mind reading scarves on a murder planet. It’s comfort food for the old Doctor Who fans and a good entry point for new…
It’s basically what I say every time there’s a vaguely cryptic setup for a character, but a part of me is hoping for it to be Susan. The abandoned part could arguably ring true.
I’m not a fan of the new opening credits or TARDIS interior but I did love Ryan’s little bit of: “I’ve trained my whole life in Call of Duty for this moment. FUCK YEAH! E-SPORTS AND 360 NO SCOPES AND...Nevermind they respawned.” That won me over on him.
There could be a whole article on just Bond stunts. The helicopter jump in Tomorrow Never Dies or the fight hanging out the back of a cargo plane in The Living Daylights.
