Not defending an actress’ honor, just pointing out the idiocy of public discourse.
I don’t have that problem, but would submit that the very worst example of a female character in any video game was Ghost Recon: Wildlands.
But what about the 10,000 outraged people on Twitter who don’t know anything?
Yeah, my recollection is that the Dreamcatcher movie is very faithful to the source material. That’s probably its biggest problem, like the...gastrointestinal distress. On paper I think it worked, because King described it in a way that was horrifying rather than comical. But on screen it’s almost impossible to have a…
Rarely in cinema have so many talented and successful people collaborated to make something so awful.
This write up didn’t adequately describe just how awful Under the Dome was. I think it wins the award for all time number of flat performances by an ensemble of actors.
Coincidentally, I am watching The Mist TV show for the first time. I’m at episode 5. It’s a really strange experience. Just as it is winning me over and I think I should get my wife to watch with me, it does something incredibly stupid or nonsensical, or a character has an especially bad performance, and I shake my…
I think The Stand is the best miniseries King adaptation. That’s not to say it’s particularly good, just the best of a bad lot.
I enjoy that there aren’t enough LA Rams fans to actually fill out the column, so Drew had to include submissions from St. Louis.
I knew the Rams weren’t for real when they got thrashed by the Bears. The Bears defense is very good, but the vaunted Rams offense looked like a college team against them.
I wouldn’t even know where to begin with that discussion. Comparing all athletes? Soccer, basketball, football, golf, ping pong, triathletes, tennis players, sumo wrestlers, cricket, etc...
If you have to ask whether it’s worth it to be a good person, you’re probably not one.
Not what he said.
Argentina?
If you get a perverse joy out of watching bad movies, I highly recommend Dreamcatcher. There are so many cringe worthy scenes, and it just gets worse and worse as the movie goes on.
I’ve read King for years, and his short stories stick with me far more than any of his novels. The Mist, The Raft, Shawshank, Beachworld, The Man in the Black Suit, Head Down (non-fiction). To me this is where King’s genius really shines through.
Under the Dome is the worst King novel I’ve ever read. But on the plus side it spawned a hilariously awful TV show.
I thought “The True Knot” were some of King’s best antagonists. Both horrifying and sympathetic.
Wow, I loved Dr. Sleep. It is probably (I kid you not) my favorite Stephen King novel. And I went into that being much more of a fan of the movie version of The Shining than the book, so was somewhat predisposed to not like Dr. Sleep because it continued King’s original version of the story.
