I was saying Boo-urns.
I was saying Boo-urns.
I totally understand. I love The Witch, but I have kids, and so I can’t stand to watch the first few minutes with the baby. I just skip right over that part.
TLJ was bad.
Oh god, I very much hope they don’t do Immaculate Conception II.
I loved the idea, but the execution was rubbish.
For 90 minutes.
I actually like this as the plot. It nicely explains how her parents were nobody’s, but also explains how she is so powerful with the Force, despite almost no training.
You’re probably right, although I think having her turn for real would be an interesting direction to go in. I read another theory that she is a clone created by Palpatine, which would be a great way to square the circle of her parents being “nobody’s,” but also that she is special in her own right by virtue of her…
I don’t understand how a character played by an actress who died before the movie was filmed could be the heart of the film’s story. I understand they’re using footage from the second film, I just don’t get how this won’t be strange and awkward unless Leia is just a small part of the film.
Fantasy elements don't excuse a film from being logically consistent.
I liked the first one, but thought some of the child acting and dialogue was pretty weak, which translating King’s dialogue to screen is always a challenge. But I would never say it wasn’t scary. Geez, the prologue by itself was both terrifying and agonizing.
The 70's weren’t good for much, but they were truly a golden age for horror. The Shining (ok, 1980), Alien, Rosemary’s Baby, The Exorcist, Carrie, Halloween, Texas Chainsaw, etc...
I remember watching The Witch in a theater and being blown away by the quality and intensity of the film. Three rows down a guy let out the biggest sigh about 60 minutes in, which I took to be his non-verbal way of saying, “Where are the gushes of blood already!”
It’s hard to say, as I think it really depends on the kid. I showed my son the movie when he was 10 or 11, and he did not enjoy the experience. We made it to the part where the bird guy decomposes and he wanted nothing more to do with the film. But he’s never been able to handle on screen violence (even now at 15,…
“There are digital effects, including parts of action sequences, scenic vistas, and some puppeteers who’ve been removed in post, but they never feel like they’re taking away from the practical magic.”
Agreed on Montgomery, I think he will turn out to be a steal and will be perfect in that offense. But unless Trubisky takes a big step forward, we ain’t going to the Superbowl. Kicker or no kicker.
I would watch that.
It’s the perfect system for indies, RPG’s, and tactics games.
Way ahead of them, been boycotting all the Disney remakes.
Attack followed by a “barf”? Reminds me of River City Ransom.
