@luke.timothy: You know you're on a gadget blog when a 6ish month old phone is 'outdated tech' ;) But don't be afraid to root it or flash it when HTC inevitably stops updating the software.
@mattolejack: I'm assuming that putting up an offering of the sort is how they make their money, the good thing here being if you think they're being too greedy with your money or data, you can go away and take your stuff to your own server.
@luke.timothy: You might want to think about postponing your purchase till the Orion comes out, or even get a galaxy S once CyanogenMod comes out for it..
@Denver: free on your iDevice/android for up to 5 songs/month, 2.99 for unlimited. Or go to midomi.com on your computer (they're the guys behind shazam competitor soundhound)
@malificient.priest: I simply have my phone get a fix from the network instead of GPS.. it's only good to within 200 meters, but it's better than nothing, and avoids the wifi issue. Besides, couldn't an if condition allow you to check for a combination of both when deactivating? i.e. "If no wifi as well as out of…
@GC: Having obtained some apps via non-appstore means in the past, I can tell you that if I enjoy or use the app to any degree, I will buy either the next update to it or the next game the dev makes, as they damn well deserve it. I have a few games however that I downloaded once out of convenience, played twice, and…
@ri59: Gizmodo didn't mention it but you can hack your APN to fake the phone in thinking it's allowed to tether. It'll then give you the standard options you'd get with carrier tethering.
@AreWeThereYeti: technically they are bowing to them because they have oil, albeit very indirectly. This is how:
@Wwhat: Let us not forget, that for all the good any company can do their single primary goal, and indeed their legal duty is to turn a profit for their shareholders, and only if said shareholders agree to/place moral guidelines to restrict that should a company take decisions that reduce their profits.
@HackBerry: Or throw an inflatable structure on top of the canopy and put panels on that... lot simpler.
@Canoehead: I think that last bit is for frucci's sake more than anything else. Either that or there's some reaaally creepy stuff getting sent to the editors.
@Kaiser-Machead v.2.1.1: The smaller airlines? KLM is one of the worlds biggest airlines, and if memory serves after the Air France-KLM merger I think that combined they're the biggest long haul carrier in the world.
@Mike43110: In aditive colours (i.e combining multiple coloured sources together instead of removing from white) the primary colours are red, green, and blue. CMYK applies only to stuff like printing, but your LCD screen is RGB.
@pixelpushing: I think the problem with treating games as multiplatform is that apple swiftly killed that off by banning stuff using Adobe Packager and Unity from the app store. They're trying to lock in their devs to Obj-C for iOS 4 only, and make it generally difficult to port stuff over.
@Spartanical: From what I understand they're currently at the 'this happens' phase. Then once they've modelled the behaviour they might be able to figure out why it happens.
I'm running the alpha 3.7 builds and they're working on crash protection. Doesn't quite all the time yet, and there's issues with fullscreen flash (the dock and menubar still show) and flash shows up as a second minefield process. It'll be there soon don't worry :)
@Lübnah has an umlaut: It is, and it's drawing me more and more towards the next good Android device that makes it to the UK..
@GitEmDoneSteveDave: Godwin's law.
