It’s a difference in food supply chain. in the United States, there is a 100% inspection rate of every animal/meat item that goes on the market. It’s the law. And still, occasionally disease outbreaks happen, but the occurrence and magnitude are controlled. That’s not the case in other countries.

I was skeptical of this too, but read the author actually had an advanced degree in Chinese culture and language and had lived in China for 6 years. Which makes it even more strange that her defense was something bizarre like “immersed herself in Chinese culture.” Give your legitimate credentials.

The only difference I can think of is that for the most part, fur animals are raised only for their furs. Leather is taken from mainly cows, although sometimes other animals who are already slaughtered for meat. The leather is a by-product and the animals are not being raised solely for their hides.

I don’t understand this law. No one can donate/sell vintage furs? So furs from decades ago should just be thrown in the trash? How does that help anyone or animal?
