No white collar jobs? The tens of thousands of people who hold national security clearances would disagree.

Same. I have no idea why everyone is so outraged. The key for the legal situation is that they’re not just randomly testing everyone student in the school because they go to school. They’re only allowed to test the kids who are involved in extracurricular activities or special privileges (like parking passes). In the…
So wildly inappropriate. I can’t believe this was given as legitimate advice.
cool whip is delicious. Thank you. hot take: frozen cool whip is even better? Good-bye.
Let’s be outraged over companies that work with indigenous people and sell or collaborate on designs, but also, please check out our ads that promote Chinese companies on Amazon and buy dresses for $13.99 but we’ll not talk about the labor and unfair trade practices and how they are affecting the lives and incomes of…
Okay but smoked gouda string cheese is at the highest level of heaven and every other type of string cheese is trash compared to it. I will not be taking any questions.
The FDA and EPA are two entirely different agencies. FDA is a part of HHS while EPA is an independent agency and the former regulates food and drugs while the later regulates pesticides and environmental waste, etc. Important to know how our government works. Too often these things slip through the cracks.
“the rule is still in place” so I don’t understand the rest of your argument. Yes, I know that the city council very controversially eliminated criminal citations for metro violation this year. And yet, fare evasion and eating on the metro are still not permitted.
I also find it odd that Metro’s defense was “she was on a 15 minute lunch break and on the way to another assignment.” So if I’m on a short lunch break, then I can also eat on the metro? Perhaps instead, they could give their employees long enough lunch breaks in order for them to be able to eat and then still have…
Truly OK Summer Kickoff! was celebrity-filled, with such incredible stars as Joe Gorga and the lady with kids who lives in Pennsylvania and decided it was a good idea to marry a 20-year-old serial cheater she met at a club in Jamaica after 1 weekend.
OF COURSE there’s a cricket farm in Brooklyn.
I weirdly have the opposite problem. We’re mandated to take at least 30 minute lunch breaks, and I usually don’t eat lunch. I prefer to work my eight hours and leave. I hate it so much. Thanks, pointless bureaucracy.
Serious question, though. Why do so many designers/shoe brands still not make size 11? Everyone’s out here with size 5 and 6 that never sell and I know so many women who have larger feet and have only a fraction of the options. Like plus-sized clothing, it’s well-established that the average woman in the U.S. now…
So this is a cheeseball?
After I was raped, it was actually a relief to be at work bc people were talking about mundane shit and I could escape from my personal hell, but the petty feuding and priorities also felt unreal. How could anyone care? I don’t know what to tell you except that yes, people deal with horrible things, but not everyone…
This probably isn’t helpful but 2 things i’ve done in the past 1) pawn shops but they only accept very specific things and will give you a fraction of the value and 2) services for moving, cleaning, child care, etc. But it can be hard to start these professions without verified recommendations these days.
These tariffs on goods coming from mexico are a huge deal and everyone is “meh” about it. Trump has no international policies or plans that work, so he relies on questionably legal moves that end up hurting U.S. consumers and businesses. And besides NPR, I find little to no reaction.
What is the point anymore? The winner is supposed to get $40,000 which used to basically cover the cost of college. Now it might get you one semester at a private school - and split 8 ways - it cost the families more to come to DC for the week than the money that the kids won.
Flip side - live in DC where all restaurants have gender-neutral, private bathroom stalls. If there a wait, everyone waits in line - first-come, first-served. But in actuality, it moves the line much quicker because everyone can use all the available bathrooms and there are literally less that no problems.
You’ve clearly never been to a taproom or ice cream parlor where there’s one staff person and a group of friends in front of you which each NEED to try 4 or 5 samples. Why do I have to seriously stand there and wait for their nonsense when I know exactly what I want to order and could have it and pay in 30 seconds.
