BoJack Horseman: Yes And, Escape from LA, Out to Sea
MOM is seriously under-rated; it’s a reliably funny show.
A couple of the shows I have been listening to have the same kind of organ music and the IMDb Trivia for the ep. mentions that they held the script pages out in front of the microphone like the old radio performers did.
“My intention was to ask a question and start a debate.”
I watched the “Nightmare Inn” episode of Frasier where they did a recreation of old radio shows. I have been listening to those old radio programs on Youtube lately, so that made it doubly good. Quiet, Please; Suspense, Escape, Lights Out, and X Minus One. All good stuff.
No, the problem is he has never been depicted as a gay full stop. Of course nobody expects Rowling to put in a explicit sex scene in a children’s book series but it doesn’t count as representation if there is literally no text that states it. Dumbeldore isn’t gay because it’s never been written as such in any of the…
“I’m less interested in the sexual side than I am in the sense of the emotions they felt for each other, which ultimately is the most fascinating thing about all human relationships,” which, okay, J.K..
I don’t need to see that!
Did you know that Valerie Cherish guest started on both Remington Steele AND Magnum PI ?
“Here’s an unscientific sampling of what other A.V. Club staffers thought a show called Whiskey Cavalier might be about:”
What did they think Game of Thrones was about? How about Counterpart? Or The Wire? Or It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia? How about Better Things? Archer? Sons of Anarchy? The Americans?
Guy walks into a shoe store - “Hey, do you have those Jellys the guy wears in that Stella Artois commercial?”
finally Escape At Dannemora, the best show of last year, wins an award
I love that header image - it’s one of those pictures where you can’t help smiling along with the people in it. (And for some reason I now want to see Andy Serkis and Angela Bassett cutting a rug at some post-Awards show bash - something tells me he incorporates that pew pew move on the dance floor lol)
If you haven’t seen it yet, watch Escape at Dannemora. Patricia Arquette is marvelous. Her work is career best. It’s so good, if Dannemora had been a movie instead of a miniseries, I think she’d be the favorite for a Best Actress Oscar. She’s THAT good.
Overselling preorders should be fucking illegal.
It’s interesting to see how diametrically opposite folks’ opinion is- we did all watch the same episode, right?
This was the most fun I’ve had watching Who in quite a while. There have been good and great episodes in that time, but this was gosh-darned enjoyable. There was enough suspense, but not terror, there were…
For me, though this episode was strange and flawed, it was the closest to an out and out good episode so far this season. It set up a genuinely tense situation with a formidable, memorable, and fairly original adversary while at the same time having some good emotional moments and character development. It is strange…
I don’t want to keep being negative, but man, I wish Chibnall would let someone else write episodes. He just isn’t that great at it. We’re 5 episodes in, and there hasn’t been a great episode yet (I liked “Rosa” a lot-didn’t love it). Not a great track record for a 10 episode series.
It's his response to Brett and his big brain trying to talk his way out of this shit.
