Barely remember anything about that movie, but I do recall that the end credits feature a shot of Stewart, smiling, wearing an eye patch.

It is! My third favorite is Exorcist III, and then fourth place is a tie of literally every other exorcism movie I’ve ever seen.

FIRST REFORMED on Friday night. Amazing. Really loved it. Might be the movie of the year for me.

Funny to see Louis Herthum listed as the possessed girl’s Dad, as he played the same role to Nell in THE LAST EXORCISM, which is my second favorite exorcism movie ever.

It’s now been ten months or so since Chuck died, and Chuck was not only the reason behind Jimmy’s suspension, but a lawyer with his name in this huge ABQ firm. For Jimmy not to mention him at all suggests some sort of evasion on his part — and I think it’s a cruel but fair reason to think that there is insincerity,

Actually, the reason both this (and Kimmy Schmidt) were released the way they were is because the Emmys cutoff was the end of the month, by when a show has to have “aired” half its season. I bet they wish they could’ve released the season all at once later this year.

PBS canceled the show because it was too cost prohibitive— which makes sense. But since Netflix doesn’t have the phrase “cost prohibitive” in its vocabulary, they just snatched him up and had him keep doing what he does.

Lambo!

“And she hadn’t even seen the license plate” is the high-water mark of Season 4.

For me, season 3 is by far the most hateful. There was the Rita thing, which is a kinda sweet idea presented in a mostly nasty way. And then there’s everybody just sort of standing around ignoring Tobias while he literally dies, and Lindsay cracking jokes about how great the fundraisers were for “Superman’s Wife”.

That’s fair, but I think if I was in a position to take my long-running TV show and use it to tell a straight-up noir story with a tinge of HANNIBAL-esque horror, or a big rollicking 30s inspired jungle adventure, I’d be tempted to take it.

I get the sense from having read some interviews with Reed that he’s incredibly uncomfortable joking and riffing about world affairs in today’s geopolitical climate. 9 years ago, a spy agency named ISIS fighting the Russians seemed like a harmless throwback, but now it’s our actual way of life. So he likes the

...especially since Netflix is already spending a lot of money on making original movies and TV shows to distract subscribers from its dwindling supply of content...

They definitely do gift cards that you can put a month or two’s worth of cash on — worst comes to worst, there are the general AmEx/Visa pre-paid gift cards.

This is definitely a movie best watched after 11pm on a Sunday after a football game, a few pints of beer and a shitload of wings (and if you’re me, an episode of THIS IS US).

I think that their new model has made all of those catalog acquisitions irrelevant. They’ve been more than happy to cede that business to Hulu, Amazon, and even smaller outlets like FilmStruck and Mubi.

Paul Thomas Anderson writes a screenplay with a truly transcendent ending and doesn’t get shit from the Academy to show for it.

I’m still halfway through the app, so I’m going to wait until I’ve played with that a bit more before watching the miniseries proper.

I’ll be damned.
