Edmure also played by the guy who played Brutus, which Jon had just pulled to vacate the throne

Jon pulled a Brutus on Dany, so they literally brought back Brutus

Astros fan here—I have misspelled his name probably forty times in my little email group. No relation to Elvis it turns out.

I’m reading this great book, A Distant Mirror, by Barbara Tuchman about the 14th century, specifically France.

I’ve flown Southwest ~700 times, and I don’t think I’ve ever met a rude flight attendant. They hire and train them to be extremely genial.

r/baseball > r/mlb btw

Was an avid reader from near the beginning. It was amazing and also not surprising when it was revealed to be Michael Schur

They should get rid of the draft and max contracts and just have a league wide cap / luxury tax

Big Buck Hunter took all the fun of Terminator 2, subtracted machine gun fire, and made the targets deer instead of killer cyborgs for some reason

Right, and people are saying that’s stupid. It’s stupid that the law is structured that way to diffuse responsibility away from the guy who drank too much and killed someone (himself in this case).

I mean, it’s a fun summer show. People tend to act that way when they do cocaine all the time. But if you didn’t enjoy it, that’s your prerogative. There are a lot of shows.

Yeah, this would have been better execution (good job Albert), but I’m still enormously satisfied they had the balls to have Dany perform her pre-ordained heel turn

Succession is a better show. The core problem is that people often confuse protagonists for “good guys”. Kind of like the show we’re discussing.

They undid Jaime’s arc because sometimes you try to be a better man, but then you’re lying awake next to Brienne and you realize you want to bone your hotter sister more.

Her rhetoric of being “a champion the oppressed” just made her more fanatically certain of the consequences-be-damned virtue of her mission and like so many fanatics throughout history gave her the mentality that anyone not with her was her enemy

I totally agree with everything you said--brilliant and thank you

I loved that episode, and I’m thrilled they had the balls to actually go through with Dany’s heel turn, which has been telegraphed for *years*.

Agreed 100%

She’s been this way the whole time; it’s not surprising to me people couldn’t see it because she’s just a cute little blonde with a good girl power narrative.

Solid contender for best fucking episode
