Czechia. Although I studied in Canada the last two years, I am going back this winter.

I’m bicultural. Half Czech (where I was born) and half Moroccan.

Ooops. I forgot that I was talking to an American.

I personally wouldn’t call men abusing, raping, and murdering women for millennia “people being assholes”, but maybe that’s just me.

If the Golden Rule extends to women too, then how come women have been treated like property and second class citizens in almost all cultures on Earth?

Women participating in a misogynistic religions will not make it any less misogynistic. Women join in in anti-women activities, beliefs and organizations all the time. This is a step backwards for women.

What does this have to do with the fact that the Catholic Church is extremely misogynistic?

Oh, so you’re another person who believes that words do not have meanings.

Who cares about the different versions of the Bible? They still tell the same stories just in different words or languages. Passages are not taken out,

?

Why does the Catholic Church need to be “fixed”? It should not exist, in my opinion.

Nope.

Religions don’t evolve over time. People just choose (aka cheery pick) not to follow certain tenets of religion as society evolves over time. Plenty leave it altogether.

“Canon Law, papal writs, teachings, traditions, etc”

Catholicism was started by men for men and is based on religious scriptures that were written by men for men. If you support it, then we certainly don’t agree on my second point.

I just believe that words have meanings. And that women deserve to live without male dogma.

The post-modernist is here. Great.

You can’t “fix” the Church. The Bible cannot be rewritten (not now anyways).

It matters to me because the Catholic Church is responsible for the suffering of women all over the world and “feminists” who support it contribute to their oppression.

You have to cherry pick quite a lot to both identify as a feminist and as a Catholic (or any other member of a patriarchal religion). At that point, are you even a Catholic?
