I didn't know she wasn't American until I read your comment.

I need this adaptation of 'A Wrinkle in Time' ASAP

this makes me pleased with my choice to be liv moore for halloween

Which was a remake of the 2001 German film "Das Experiment" starring Moritz Bliebtreu and Justus von Dohnányi. But both are only loosely based on the actual experiment (adults instead of students, not being stopped after one week, etc). You should definitely watch it though!

i'm currently in the middle of a rewatch of early supernatural (i'll probably stop with the end of s5 because i think the show should have ended there). has AVClub ever considered doing a TV Classic for seasons 1-4 of supernatural?

It's not particularly focused on him, but I was always a fan of Kurt's subplot in 'The Jet Set' (s02e11), when he bonds with Peggy and casually informs the office that he "make[s] love with the men, not the women". For a character who was mainly there to talk with a European accent and be young, it was nice to get

"Why do so many stories about kids feature them having to read Crime & Punishment or some other Russian novel in an obscenely short amount of time?"

every time i see these episodes i'm just totally baffled by the character of lindsay. WHO GETS ENGAGED TO THE GUY WHO GOT INTO A FIGHT OVER THEIR EX-GIRLFRIEND? WHO THINKS THAT'S A GOOD IDEA?

I always sympathized with Jess about the bracelet thing. When I was in high school I had a crush on a boy and he let me fiddle around with his watch during lunch break on the Friday before break. We both had to get to class and we rushed off in different directions. By the time I realized I still had his watch, I

my problem with lorelai's reaction to jess is that it's genuinely super petty. she's trying so hard and then the moment he implies she might be sleeping with luke, that's it. jess is just 100% written off for the rest of his existence on the show which just makes me actually kind of hate lorelai? like i love her, but

Except! In the video the son explains that he named his son Jesse, after saying "I wanted to name him after you, but Lois said no. MAYBE NEXT TIME."…and then we learn in a later video from him that Jesse *spoiler* dies. He mentions having a second son, who we meet when Murphy goes to visit, who they all call Cooper.
    So

Okay so I saw the movie last night (I enjoyed it immensely but also feel that my views on the movie might be wrapped up in my first experience seeing a movie on 70mm IMAX) and I have a (probably silly) nitpicky question:
Was Cooper's first name Cooper? Because it's explicitly stated that his daughter is "Murphy Cooper"

I've always had a little bit of a celebrity crush on Jake Gyllenhaal ever since I went to see a movie with him in it…on my first date. But it used to be this embarrassing celebrity crush because he did such terrible movies. And then…Brokeback Mountain! Zodiac! Prisoners! Envy! And now Nightcrawler!

I think you would have enjoyed the theatre I was in way better! Fincher embraced the ridiculousness of the story in a really great way (the scene when Amy arrives at the house drenched in blood and then faints was pure gold). I have to agree with all the reviews that dub this "Fincher's best comedy"

I think my favorite moment of Fincher's directing was in the very first shot of Amy writing in her diary. For a split second you can see her writing the words, you're distracted by her voice over, but if you pay attention you notice: the line of different pens that peek out at the very top of the shot. And then the

Chalk boards are definitely still present and common in college classrooms. I graduated in May 2013 and most of my classes still had huge chalkboards that covered the front wall of the room.

It's weird whenever I see clips from 'The Mist' in color, because the first time I saw the film I watched the director's cut in black and white. It gives the film a '50s classic horror feel that made me really love it

Okay, I know it's been a while since I saw 'Top of the Lake' but I'm pretty sure the series ended with the confirmation that while Robin WAS Mitchum's daughter, Johnno was not his son.
Or am I totally mis-remembering that?

MICHAELA, MAN. She was so fucking bamf. Figuring out that lady was colorblind and lying to the cop. I'm looking forward to more of her.

I have the 2009 160GB ipod classic and I still haven't filled it up and it's still my favorite apple product
