God, I went to a show in Brooklyn on that Sunn/Boris tour. Not only did all of the above apply, but it was hot as hell and there was a problem with the electricity (caused by the mountains of amps) that delayed things for quite a while. By the time they had been going for a while, the combination of heat and deep

I wish I could say it was something good, but it's fucking always "Lovin' You" by Minnie Riperton and the 80's theme song for local NY supermarket chain Food Emporium ("Someone made a store just for me! Someone has my kind of quality!")

God, Castle of Fu Manchu is so bad. I watched it with friends years ago at the tail end of what had turned into a streak of terrible movies, and it was so dull and poorly made, I vowed to watch only Criterion films for the next several months. I literally had to recover from Castle.

Yes!

I loved that movie as a kid, but I was a kid, so go figure.

Not great, but not terrible.

Weirdly, my friend and I saw LAH in the theaters around the same time as Jurassic Park, and were convinced that LAH was better and would be the big hit. Rarely have I been wronger in my life. Though I did enjoy LAH.

That would be the only way his comment would make sense, yes.

Up in the Air was a shitty fucking boring book too. The movie was actually a slight improvement, if only because Vera Farmiga and Anna Kendrick kept me awake.

Krull is terrible, but also super fun.

My runner-up second worst. My same friend made me watch Postman AND Water World in the theaters.

Baby Geniuses, by the great Bob Clark of Christmas Story, Porky's and Black Christmas. Had to take a bunch of campers to see this on a rainy day when I was a summer camp counselor. Only time I've ever been happy to get out of my seat and take kids to the bathroom.

Is Jessa supposed to be on cocaine in this and the last few episodes and they're just not saying it. Because Jemima Kirke has been playing her like she's coked to the gills.

The skateboard on the edge bit made my feet tingle painfully. We don't have to feel bad if any of these morons die, right? I just hope the falls are immediately fatal so we don't have to waste hospital resources.

Brilliant stuff.

Man, heard him do some of this stuff at Tanglewood last year and he was pretty fucking awful. Mavis Staples kicked his ass.

Happy to see Sword Identity getting some love. What a weird, brilliant satisfying film. I'll need to check out Judge Archer.

Diagnosis? Bastard! for the win. The only one that made me laugh out loud. Sounds like an awesome old spaghetti western.

Also, I know this is sacrilege, but I actually prefer The Killer to Hard Boiled. Maybe just because I saw it first, it was the first HK action film I ever saw (came on HBO at like 2 am in pre-DVD days, I started watching just out of curiosity and ended up staying up all night), and it absolutely blew my fucking mind.

Curious if you ever got to see any of the Jean-Paul Belmondo French action flicks from the 70s and early 80s. The Professional and The Night Caller are both super fun with amazing stunts.
