It's a bad performance and none of the themes in this movie are presented subtly. It's surprisingly 'film school' for such a great director. I was extremely disappointed in this movie.

The more I think back on it, the less I like it. The direction was amateurish and showy for no reason and the themes were shallow and tacked on. Good crime stuff though.
