This has been posted a bajillion times everywhere, but I haven't seen anyone make the point that there is absolutely no way these babies are "mimicking life inside the womb". They are VERY CLEARLY fraternal twins, and that means two amniotic sacs. Separate sacs = no hugging. It's simply not possible.

I was just watching a documentary on the chimpanzee. I enjoyed watching the part where mumma chimpanzee put the placenta in a waterproof bag and then blogged about it. AHH NATURE.

Good, good... the public grows weary of all these little, naked pop stars and redirects its attention to the entertainer we OUGHT to be seeing everywhere:

I can't believe this article missed one of the most important points of unpaid internships... which is that only people who can afford to be unemployed for however long take unpaid internships, and if unpaid internships are necessary experience in order to land a "good" job then those who can't afford to take unpaid

The more commonplace that unsexualized tits become, the less tantalizing they'll become as talismans of power to Reddit creeps.

Eh, I could not care less of there was a breastfeeding pic of me on Reddit. How would that make ME look bad? It would just make whoever posted it look like an idiot.

Yup.

That shit's so fucking passive aggressive and hurtful. If you're going to do it, at least have the decency to tell them why you're cutting them off or just slowly fade away. And if they start drama, just say that you needed a break and couldn't handle it emotionally and they'll make themselves look like assholes.

Here's the problem with that: Now I'm sitting around stewing bc the person I did this to doesn't even give a shit. What is THAT about?!

I've had this done to me, and it's the worst, most painful thing to experience. It hurts, and it drags out the "friend breakup" much longer than it needs to.

That'd be nice. Passing off a white people's folktale as an Inuit folktale would have been unfortunate for other reasons.

Yup, there are 3 blondes, 2 brunettes, 2 redheads , an African American girl, a Chinese girl, a Native American girl and a Middle Eastern girl that are the featured 'princesses'.

"AMY GOODMAN: That’s Abigail Fisher. Officially, she’s the plaintiff in the Supreme Court case, but that’s not the whole story. What’s not widely known is that the case was in fact spearheaded by a man named Edward Blum. A former stockbroker, he recruited Fisher after a long search for a student who could challenge

Couldn't agree more. I'm a first gen, and I'm sure it helped me get into college. It didn't help me get into grad school, though—that was mostly me (acknowledging white privilege, natch) . If you give people half a chance, they'll prove they deserve it. That's why I support AA.

As one of "those kids" who got into and turned down better schools than UT, I want to inform you that YES racism does have a negative impact on affluent blacks. Racism at my KINDERGARTEN orientation is why my mom decided to SAH.

Sounds like you're the misinformed one.

I just want to add that while I totally agree that Fisher needs a serious reality check re: how life works, I do want to point out this case, and the driving force behind it, are so much bigger than her.

I had a 3.98 GPA and am half hispanic / half white. I basically got wait-listed at UT. I could attend the summer session and they'd look at my grades at the end of summer and decide whether to let me stay. I didn't end up going because the idea of summer school was unfathomable. There are way too many quality kids

YES YES YES YES YES. THANK YOU!

I agree that we need more class-based affirmative action - but in addition to, not instead of, race-based affirmative action. Until people of color are no longer impacted by institutional disadvantages, this is a necessary system.
