Has anything labeled a “collector’s edition” ever actually been collectible?

NASA was involved in the sub’s design. They probably know a thing or two.

I’m not trying to compare the merits of Lightning vs USB-C or NCAS to CCS. I agree that NCAS is largely superior to competing formats. I’m just pointing out that the format wars that plague every new technology is tiring and I want manufactures to settle on a single standard already. NCAS, CCS1, CCS2, J1772, CHAdeMO,

I actually just bought a PHEV (Volvo V60) which uses the J1772 connector, but I’m not worried about it. I just plug it in at home. When am I ever going to plug it in at a public charger? It gets 40 miles of all electric range, but I’m never going to attempt a long distance drive in EV mode. Now if I just bought a full

This back and forth on charging standards makes it hard to want to go all in on an EV. I don’t need to deal with box of giant charge adapters lying around like I do for USB, USB-mini, USB-C, Lightning, etc.

Until there is a significant leap in battery tech, I think you will be stuck waiting for a long time. Even the Mini Cooper SE is over 3000 lbs (though not by much), and its range is half what you want.

It’s quite simple. I want a fast, sophisticated eurowagon with a premium interior like Audi, BMW and Volvo should be making. Instead all we get are crossovers. The only thing that comes close is a Taycan Cross Turismo, and that starts well north of $100k.

Let’s be real. He commissioned the figurehead to look like ANY girlfriend he will have at any point in time. If she wants to believe he did it specifically for her, that’s on her.

You got me there

My Dad has a ‘22 Model Y Long Range that I’ve done a few hundred miles of long distance driving in (city and interstate) and I didn’t care for the experience. For reference I’m used to a hard suspension and there is usually something that’s been lowered or otherwise tuned in my garage, but the Model Y felt

But what would make you reconsider Tesla? What would Tesla have to do to win you over?

You aren’t wrong. I would argue Subaru already does that with the CrossTrek. It’s just a lifted Impreza, which is otherwise a wagon (or 5 door hatchback) rather than a crossover.

Yeah, it’s not really doing anything for me either. Yet despite the fact the Eletre betrays everything Lotus has ever stood for, I really want it to succeed. I want it to do for Lotus what the Cayenne did for Porsche and the DBX is doing for Aston Martin. I want them to rake in the dough so they can continue to develop

Fair point on that. With Google doing the heavy lifting it probably won’t be as terrible compared to GM handling it on their own; however, because GM clearly wants more control over the look and experience, it isn’t unreasonable to expect the end result will be a botched compromise between what Google would do on

This is a ridiculous assertion. Apple and Google have spent billions of dollars and have decades of experience in putting together a tech user interface, and as a result we spend all day on our phones. There is no way in hell any automaker is going to do a better job, and they probably don’t care to. They just want

Everyone attending should march on Audi HQ and demand they send the RS4 Avant to the US.

Volvo and Polestar share EV tech, safety tech, chassis engineering, and even some design language. So not only are they not completely different companies, you really didn’t answer the OP’s question either.

...owned by the same parent company.

I think if it were heavier, an adhesive wouldn’t be enough to stick.

Yours is still better. Had no idea it existed!
