What makes this all the more surprising is that one of the new airlines is being started by the guy who founded Jet Blue. I can’t imagine why anyone would ever bother starting an airline, let alone doing it twice.

There are 2 in the US just this year and at least a dozen more abroad.

Airline startups actually happen surprisingly often.

Yeahl, I saw that but couldn’t see the gear. I figured a winch that strong would be big and obvious, but I guess it’s integrated into the bumper? I’d have expected all of it would be strewn about in a a failed effort to free the truck, but I guess once it all fails you might as well put everything away.

I had to look again for the spare. Good eye.

I would hope so but looking at the photos I don’t see a whole lot (or any) recovery gear. Where are the recovery boards? Where’s the winch? I don’t even evidence of some half-assed shoveling out in front. Maybe it’s all there and they knew from experienced it wasn’t going to help?

Alfa Romeo. The biggest Alfa fans seem to actually revel in the unreliability of their cars.

And IMO the Cross-turismo version is even more striking.

I dunno, I see enough Civic Type Rs running around to think there are a few who might. Not a lot, but perhaps enough to justify building one. Especially if Acura is making an attempt to bring back some sporting heritage.

No need to apologize. We’re all eating a lot of ‘member berries these days.

I guess that begs the question: Is it even possible to bring back that Integra Type-R feeling we all had in a modern iteration, or are we forever doomed to disappointment regardless of the effort Honda puts in?

The original was too (in the looks department). That’s not why we loved it.

What’s wrong is that this is what the Jalopnik commentariat has devolved into. We all used to be car fans but now all we do is bitch every time a company brings back an old concept because we think it can’t possibly recapture the magic we remember seeing through the rose-colored lenses of our youth. Not that it

^THIS^ Everyone is looking back at the old Integra as if it wasn’t just an upgraded Civic with conservative styling and everyone is upset that it still is.

According to Honda the Si weighs 2906 lbs.

Where are you getting 180 hp? New Si makes 200 and weighs 2906 lbs. Sure the Acura might put on a couple lbs in the name of comfort, but not 300.

The current Civic Si (which this is based on) weigh 2906 lbs not 3200, so power to weight ratios will be quite similar, but the new car has 64 more lb/ft of torque and a much a much broader powerband, so it will easily smoke a GS-R off the line. But also remember this is obviously the base Integra. When the GS-R was

Well, actually, that makes a ton of sense. Fair point.

The projectile will also need a kick-stage to get into an actual orbit
